FRP Composite Snow Poles provide Durable and Highly Visible Roadway Demarcation
Glasforms’ composite fiberglass snow poles improve roadway demarcation for motorists and snow removal crews. The one piece poles are designed for either direct burial into the shoulder of the road or for attachment to Glasforms’ delineator or marker posts. Snow poles are available in 3 standard cross sections and in multiple lengths to achieve the proper combination of stiffness and flexibility. Glasforms composite poles are not affected by cold temperatures, unlike thermoplastic poles which become brittle and are easily fractured upon vehicular impact or repeated flexural loading. The fiberglass composite poles deflect, without creep degradation to return upright after impact or load removal. Should the composite poles or posts be directly impacted near the ground line by snow removal equipment, the composites will break away to minimize potential equipment damage, versus conventional metal poles and posts that may disable equipment. Poles are produced in a bright, safety orange color with ultra violet light stabilizer for color retention. The flat design allows for application of reflective sheeting or mechanically attached reflectors to either side of the pole. All poles have radius edges and are beveled on the corners to accommodate easy installation in the post adaptor brackets. The snow poles are pultruded in three standard sizes; 1/8" x 1", 3/16" x 1-1/4" and 3/8" x 1-1/4". Standard lengths are 3’ to 8’ with custom lengths available. Materials: All unidirectional E-glass in isopolyester resin. Properties: High Flexural Strength, low weight and UV resistance. Process: Pultrusion Sizes: 1/8" x 1", 3/16" x 1-1/4" and 3/8" x 1-1/4" |
